Playground Fun

Hansel here with more fun news.

On Saturday, foma took all of us pups out to this place they call the playground.  This was my first big outing and I was very excited.  I rode like a champ in the car and waited nicely while foma let us out.  Turns out lots of other greyhound parents had the same idea.  They brought their pups to the playground too.

First we all had to introduce ourselves.

Time to check the place out.

Then it was on to the running.  We ran in big packs and small ones and it was all just for fun.  That was really nice.

We agreed that the best place in the whole playground was the sand pile.  It was nice and cool and just a greyt place to hang out with all my new friends.

There was only one thing to do after a long day of running and playing.........

Yep, it's nap time.  I'll have to tell you more when I wake up.

More Training, But Not For Me

Hansel here.

There seems to be a lot of training going on at my foster home.  Friday night was special. My foma got us all leashed up and we each got a cool glow ring.  I just knew we were headed out for nice night walk.  But we never left the front yard.  We just stood around until it got dark.

Foma also had a big bowl of treats but we didn't get any of that either.  So far this training session was a bit boring.

Then the children started showing up and I realized foma wasn't training us, she was training the kids.  It was fun to watch.  Each child was wearing a funny costume.  When they came to foma, they had to say the magic phrase, trick-or-treat.  If they said it just right, then foma gave them treats from the big bowl.  For me and Dolly this was the first time we witnessed this training of the children but it was fun.  If the children were really good, we helped foma out by rewarding them with snuggles and wet kisses.

The down side to all this training was I didn't get any treats from the big bowl.  They must have been really good too because every child worked hard to get some.  I suppose just helping foma out with all the kids was enough.  Ear scratches and pettins wasn't so bad either but I needed a long nap after such hard work.  Maybe next year foma could train the kids to bring us pups some yummy treats.  I'll go make that suggestion.
